October 18 & 19, 2008!!! The Oklahoma City Wood Carvers club, invites you to join our show for 2008 to be held at the Oklahoma City State Fair Grounds in the Centennial Building. You can show, sell, carve, visit, and share ideas. The judge for 2008 will be Desiree Hajny. Special guests for 2008 include Woodturning and Scroll saw Artists. These artists will have their own competition and their own judges in addition to the woodcarvers. Any registered participant can take part in all activities. There will be cash prizes for Best of Show, First Runner Up, Second Runner Up, Six Best of Group Awards, Best Table Display, Chairman's Choice and the traditional Whittlers Contest. Brochures are printed and have been mailed. Club members can pick theirs up at the meeting. If they do not attend we will mail them. Walking sticks and canes.... New, Old, and carved. Hopefully a number of people will bring something to talk about. Everyone that took a friendship cane segment needs to finish it and bring it to the meeting so that the pieces can be assembled and the cane sent to our friend of OCWC. (you know who!) June's program is "Dawg Daze of Summer" Carve an ol' dawg, new dog, lazy dog, busy dog. July's program will be "Carving Collections" Bring something acquired from someone, or somewhere else and tell what appealed most about it. |
