Dr. James Hooper conducts carving instruction classes at the Edmond Senior Center on Thursdays, from noon to 3PM.  James has his work on display at the library along with the work of students.  Also, several members of OCWC are exhibiting works at the library.

For more information and to get involved, contact Richard or Carl.  (See contact info on page 4)

Wichita show
James Hooper won third place for his Mountain Trapper, Steve Brandt won third in chip carving, and second in the religious category, and Ron Schessel won a first place with his Shore Bird and four second place ribbons.  Ron's second place ribbons were for Song Bird, Water Fowl, Game Bird and Bird of Prey.   The event, in it's second year at the Cessna Activity Center, was well attended by exhibitors and venders, as well as the public.  Chipchats and Woodcarver's Illustrated current cover photos are of carvings by exhibitors Charley Phillips, and Sandy Smith, who also won Best of Show for her carving of a fawns' head.  Five club members, other than those exhibiting, ventured up the highway to look and learn.  James and I got there in time for the tornado sirens to sound off, just as we were unloading at the
motel !!!
